Ms. McKay has practiced counseling in the Boise area for 17 years. She enjoys utilizing art techniques that allow clients to stretch, express, create and grow. In her practice, she focuses on meeting client needs while, 1) Acknowledging the value within each being, 2) Understanding it is an honor to “work one’s way out of one’s job.”, 3) Reinforcing that therapy does not have to feel like torture., and 4) Celebrating when clients can “Enjoy Life More”.

Ms. McKay serves the counseling needs of the individual, married/partner couples and families as well as counseling for the GLBTQ community and the deaf and hard of hearing. She facilitates therapeutic groups, including one for Adults Molested as Children (AMAC). Beyond counseling, Ms. McKay provides American Sign Language translation, participates in a Pet Therapy program and teaches classes for teens on probation (Cognitive Self-Change/Thinking Errors) and for parents of juveniles who have acted out with sexually inappropriate behaviors.
